I have been a Celebrant now for over six years. I look on this role as being the best thing I have ever done.
Prior to training with Civil Ceremonies Ltd, I had been a bookkeeper. I didn’t enjoy my work and had that horrible sinking feeling every Sunday evening, knowing that I had to go into the office the next day. Since retraining, I can honestly say that I have never felt that way. I enjoy my work and get to meet some wonderful people along the way.
I have mainly concentrated on officiating at funeral ceremonies however, after much deliberation I came to the conclusion that all ceremonies are as important as the others. Helping families celebrate their life’s milestones, is an honour. Whether it be welcoming someone new into your family, a ceremony to celebrate a couples love or saying the last goodbye to a loved one, each of these ceremonies bring new people into my life and new memories are made.
The writing of a ceremony, including ideas from families that leads to their ‘something unique,’ makes every day different. Remember it’s Your ceremony. Your way.
I have three daughters of whom I am extremely proud and share my home and sofa with my partner and two dogs! I enjoy reading, travelling, music, photography, cooking and walking.I have made Rugby my home for over 30 years. I was born in the Midlands but spent my teenage years in Ireland. Although I still visit Ireland a couple of times a year, Rugby is very much where my heart is.
